To combat phone fraud, ice has entered into a partnership with Alytic’s daughter company Utel, a leading Norwegian player in fraud monitoring.
"Our customers should feel safe when using our mobile network. Fraud tactics are becoming increasingly sophisticated, which is why we invest in the best tools to fight scammers. The partnership with Utel provides us with an advanced and practical solution that can effectively identify and prevent fraud in real time," says Erik Haugland, Director of Security at ice.
Can Lead to Significant Financial Losses
Over the past three years, Utel has been developing the AI-based monitoring method.
"With this model, ice can detect unusual phone traffic, categorize different fraud techniques, and stop fraud attempts before they reach customers," says Frode Gorseth, Chief Product Officer at Utel.
ice is the first mobile operator in Norway to implement the solution.
"The first step toward international success in fraud prevention is proving that our technology works here at home. Norway is at the forefront in this field, and we are pleased that a company like ice is adopting our solution to combat a growing challenge," says Monica Vaksdal, CEO of Utel.
